SEGA reveal Sonic 4: Episode Metal

Some of you may have read my preview of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II the other week, well a few days ago SEGA announced an exclusive unlockable story for those of us who bought both Sonic 4 Episode I and buy Episode II when it comes out this May. On the same platform of course.

A new trailer reveals that players are able to play through the reworked levels from Sonic 4 Ep I as Metal Sonic, showing how he regained how power after Sonic CD and came to be the villain in Episode II. So not only is Ep II giving us a whole new Sonic experence, but givivng us rerason to go back and play the first one again in an entirely new way.

The trailer also reveals a new stage in Episode II, a desert located oil plant. Maybe taking some inspiration from Sonic 2‘s Oil Ocean Zone. Either way, it looks nice.

Sonic 4 Episode II, and by extension Episode Metal, will be released on May 15th for PSN, May 16th for Xboxlive and then throughout the following months on various mobile platforms.
