Metal Gear Solid 4 came out in 2008 and in my opinion, was one hell of a game. After four long years of active duty, Metal Gear Online is finally coming to end. Konami has announced that the online portion of the game will be ending in multiple waves. On March 21st 2012 16:00 (JST) (2am central daylight time), the MGO Online shop will close. On April 24th 2012 18:00 (JST) (4am central daylight time), expansion packs and Preset Codec Message Appeal Packs will be available for free download. Reward shop equipment will be available for free. (* With the exception of “non-sale” items.)
Lastly on June 12th 2012 23:59 (JST) (9:59am central daylight time), the online service will come to an end. I feel sorry for all of the avid Metal Gear Solid Online players. Hopefully Kojima will come up with a new service for all of his loyal fans.

I found the whole signing up procedure an utter nightmare, online play was flawed and was deathmatch oriented and not stealthy at all. co-op is better suited for mgs not versus. Good riddance I say, I tried to like it but it was such a bother to get into and the servers were in japan so LAAAAG

MGS4 was amazing but did anyone actually care about he multiplayer? I bought and loved the game solely for its single player.
